Just seen from the office window, 2 x single engined piston warbirds flying in very close formation at about 2000′ in a north-easterly direction across the M25 south of Watford. Too distant to type ID exactly, but definately Spit/Hurri/P-51 size/speed etc.
Time as about 3.20-3.30pm this afternoon.
I thought BBMF but would have expected all of them to be in winter maintainance now, as would be most of teh civvie stuff I would have thought.
Anybody know…??
Certainly not an everyday occurance in these parts at this time of year 🙂

We had TD248 flying last Friday, IAC161 flying on Monday this week and IAC161 and JG891 both down to fly later this week as well.
They do forecast hideous rain though

Well, whichever Hurricane is going to be at Coltishall next week, and I suspect it could be Peter Vachers, then, thats another for the list.

A month for an annual???? What are you guys messing about at??????
By: Mark V - 20th November 2006 at 17:00
Just shows that not all warbirds hibernate for the entire winter. An annual can be done in a month or so and so long as you have access to a nice well drained (ideally hard) runway you can fly all year round, weather permitting.
