Meteor TT20 info wanted

OK, maybe I should post this as a modelling thread, but I figure I’ll get a better coverage / response on Historic.

I want to finish a model Meteor NF as a Royal Navy TT20. Can I find any info on the towing kit! Has anyone got any decent photos or other info on the winch etc so I can construct one?

Any help much appreciated

All the information you will need is in this book, which is currently available:

http://www.flight-recorder.com/long-drag-info.html

I have a copy and it’s excellent with photos, drawings etc.

What about the excellent SAM publications books. They do one on the Meteor. Not got that title my self. But got the Mossie one and Im sure they show drawings for the winch in that.

Yes it has, but i’m not gonna delete old photo’s in valueable threads just to get under Key Publishings new 5Mb attachment storage limit and load them here. But happy to email them of course 😉

Winch

Flight Refuelling of Wimbourne, Dorset, made the winches. Perhaps you could contact them?

C-scale used to make a white metal TT.20 winch in 1/72. IIRC it came in a set converting 3 types of aircraft.
