Engine blade identification.

I have aquired this engine blade and mounted it on a mahogany base for effect, what I would like to know is exactly what it came off.

I have it on good authority that it is from an RR Avon of Lightning origin, if anyone can confirm engine type and which stage it is from then it would be very much appreciated.

Indentifying marks are:-

SFA7 32
BR36344 CON409SCC

This is all stamped on apart from the number 32 which has been manually etched.

And on the other side:-

BR37051A S4N

Also stamped on the root of the blade is an H inside a cricle.

Regards,

John.

The prefix ‘EU’ was used on the Spey and the Spey LP compressor first stage blades were white.

I think you’re barking up the right tree with Avon. BR prefix certainly sounds like it should be an Avon part number but I’ve only got Avon 100 series parts catalogues so as it’s Lightning it’s not listed in mine.
Again, it physically looks like it could be Avon as well although our Mk109 engines all have single bushed roots on the rotor blades and not double.
Sorry I can’t be more helpful?
Maybe LPG at Bruntingthorpe could confirm?

Regards
Chris
