So what is it?
Farman reduction gear, radial engine, probably Bristol.
The ratio looks more like Centaurus than Hercules.
Centaurus and four bladed prop…
Tempest II, Buckingham, Buckmaster or Brigand?
Any educated guesses?

Why the need to modify or cut up a prop…
Usually because it’s a salvaged hub / blade after it got busted by contact with the ground…

Why can’t people just leave a piece of history alone? Why the need to modify or cut up a prop. I left mine alone as I found it. I am only the current caretaker and someday it will pass to someone else to take care of.

I think your one has more character Pete.
“Postage included in the asking price” well, Cloud Cuckoo Land must be a bloody long way away then!
I would challenge this prat that this one is probably equally as rare, and after all, that`s his lame excuse for asking £53 grand.

Ah, the old rare=valuable argument. Doncha just love it.
I bought a Vampire T-11. The RAF Museum dont have one of those either. Should I sell it to them for £53,920?
The Spitfire propeller hub isnt…..

this genuine spitfire foot pump seems a much better buy?
regards
Mark Pilkington
You are bidding on a very interesting item.It is a WWII RAF AM AIR MINISTRY BATTLE of BRITAIN period FOOTPUMP!!This would have been used to pump up all manner of things-bicycles,car tyres and possibly tail wheels/main wheels on smaller aircraft-I presume they would use a compressor on larger bomber wheels etc

A ‘look at me, look at me’ stunt?
To get anywhere near its perceived value that starting price should have it’s decimal point moved at least two digits to the left.

Wow. Someone is either living in cloud cuckoo land or has the decimal point in the wrong place. I’d suggest it’s about £53k too expensive 😉 And it’s not even all that nice a piece in my opinion (given that it’s been chopped up to a great extent).
Given that there’s a supposedly unique two bladed wooden Spitfire prop available online for £7000, and many other interesting props from the same site at £1250 upwards… it rather puts it in perspective I think?
