I’m a member of the Military Vehicle Trust, and I’ve been asked by the organiser of a big 40s event in Bury attached to the East Lancs Railway to try to track down a P-51 Mustang that was apparently seen flying near Grange Over Sands recently. I’ve tried contact a member of the Lancashire Aircraft Investigaiton Team who couldn’t help, but suggested this forum may be of use.
Does anyone know of the owner of a P51 that may be based in the North West of England?
Thanks for your help, in advance.

Holiday sighting
The only information I was given was in a letter dated 20th September that said “Ealier this year when a colleague from the railway was on holiday in the Lake District he observed what he believed was a wartime Mustang aircraft flying close to Grange over Sands. It is understood the aricraft is privately owned by an aviation enthusiast who possibly lives in Flookburgh, Cumbria”.
Does this help identify the owner?
