carrierborne heavyweights

is there enyone out there who loves the A-3 Skywarrior and the A-5 Vigilante, the two largest carrierborne aircraft ever made.
it still amazes me how the Americans succesfully operated these large and heavy types from there carrier decks. the futuristic looks of the Vigi and the graceful lines of the Skywarrior are fantastic and often forgotten pieces of aviation history. it is strange to think both aircraft was designed to do the same job, nuclear bombers but both types found there glory doing other duties.
i always think it was a great pity the Vigi was withdrawn early due to defence cuts, but the Warrior did hang around for a while longer.
is it true that during Veitnam A-5s was sometimes armed with 2000lb bombs, was A-3s armed as well. when was the last operational Vigi and warrior sqn disbanded, is there eny Skywarriors still airworthy today, how many A-5s survived the scrapman..
i would love to hear your views and see your pictures of these two fantastic but often forgotten aircraft. 🙂 🙂
