P9374 was identified by yours truly when it was pulled out in about 1981/2. (I know…you didnt realise I was that old!)I have some remarkarble shots of me sitting in the seat of the Spitfire, feet on pedals and ready to go!! I still have the armoured windscreen that I carried back on my lap on the Hoverspeed hovercraft much to the bemusement of passengers and cabin staff. Sadly, the Spitfire was a shadow of its earlier self but it has been good in recent years to see pics of the aeroplane as it was in 1940. I have shots of other unidentified Spits (1940) on French beaches…maybe I will post them here? Or maybe I’ll check out if they are still there before I do!!!??? Andy

Strange that so early in the war, these Spitfires (then state of the art) were just left. Is N3200 the Sangatte Spitfire? When recovered it looked less complete with the front fuselage and inner wings remaining. What happened before that?
Interesting to see photo’s of these aircraft with the knowledge that they both survived the war and were recovered in the eighties.

Second pic looks a bit like P9374 (G-MKIA).
