As I am sure most of you are aware, the BBMF Lancaster’s maintenance programs contract has recently been taken on by Atlantique Airlines at Coventry airport.
Their have been numerous dates given as to when she is arriving but I can now confirm through air traffic control, that the Lancaster has been booked in to arrive on Monday 2nd October at 11am (tomorrow).
So all you enthusiasts, grab your camera’s and come and see her come in, as this will be the last time to see her for a few months. Public access is not allowed!! 😉

I was taking an exam this morning so couldn’t be there sadly. The old man went along and took some snaps with his Nikon S4.

Im at work now so cant confirm the book I extracted the info from but it is a very well regarded book on the history of the BBMF. Its a great read and if anyone is interested let me know and I can put the title and author on the thread later.
In years gone by the Lancaster went through major services more reg than it does now. Thats why the colour scheme changes have slowed down somewhat in recent years.
I thought PM-M2 was worn for longer than one season. I may be wrong as im more a Spitfire fan. But I will be honest and say that Ive never seen her wear or seen pics of her with DR-M codes on. Love to see the pic CDP206.
Its the great thing about this forum theres always someone with new information even if it does prove you wrong.
Unfort im stuck in rugby working while my buddy the original poster RobMAc will be stood waiting to seeher come in. NOT FAIR.

Phantom Phixer,
When exactly did she wear DR-M? I have a photo of her on my notice board here taken at Mildenhall in the very early nineties(?). Would that be about right right?

Forecast weather is for 2000ft cloudbase and light westerlies, so no major crosswind issue there.

At a guess, 1968-80, looking at my photos but I stand to be corrected.
Sort of ties in with my memory, I recall seeing her at Weston Super Mare in the early 70’s, possibly 73, and at that time she wore KM-B.
