Tucked away in the far corner of the 121st Air Refuelling Wing base (next to Rickenbacker International Airport, Columbus, Ohio) our BAES tour discovered this forlorn Phantom. All that our official USAF guide could tell us was that it had flown in one day, the pilot stepped out and it’s been there ever since!
Can anyone throw more light on this?

The F4 looks in pretty good nick really as do the other outdoor display planes. Pity they couldnt get a small building to house them in.

Rickenbacker gate guardians
Thanks for the quick reply, curlyboy.
On almost the same subject, here are the “official” ANG gate guardians outside the tanker base.

It is an ex ohio ANG RF-4C, it was apparently donated to the airport as a memorial to the airmen who operated from the field.
