Finally got started on the ’70 Ford Ranchero paintjob which will be a replica of the former TFC P47 paint scheme…. 😮
Rear half of the hood, er, bonnet will be gloss Dk green, front half of hood & fenders will be the checker pattern, invasion stripes directly above rear wheels arches, star & bar in front of stripes, NGNG art either on front of door or rear of fenders. Enginebay/core support will be semi gloss black…. underside of hood will probably be silver tho..
Anyone remember what the paintcode for the silver was? I can’t remember who painted it or where it was done…Chino?
Paint will be PPG Deltron.
Now I need to go find some good photos as the guy in charge of the paintbooth at the local community college thinks I’ve become unhinged… 😀
The shape of the Ranchero also lends itself to a Griffon Spit paint scheme… & I’ve just been offered another one for $500…. 😮
Edit: I should say “restarted” as I already painted the hood scoop & have DP50LF epoxy primer on the hood & roof..

******! going to have to rethink the stripes/star & bar bit….. maybe carry the dk green back along the top body line all the way to the tail lights, stripes below middle body line & bottom edge of ‘bar’ along the top of middle body line….arrghh…MX-X either side of stripes… & unsure about the black stripe on the fin… maybe a black stripe across the tailgate….
I can picture it in my mind, know where to mask it etc, just kinda hard to put into words…
… where did I put my meds?
edit: serial # top rear of body…lemme find a decent side view of the vehicle & you should be able to picture it how it will all look……
ah ha, here we go:
