Fire Dumps picture thread…..

Ok, so we have had scrapyards, and even the new airfields picture thread, but how about a thread just on pictures/info of aircraft being used by the fireman??

Sadly these days, (in the UK anyway) most airfields have gone a bit eco friendly, and now have ugly tin cans as fire trainers. True they last longer, but its not the same as finding a half burnt old aircraft in the corner of an airfield.

Cannot add anything myself (Not yet) so any takers….

Tim

Nice shots guys. It is a shame that some of these airframes are not used for spares first.

Morning all,

Some nice pics there Les, the Manston Canberra looks a little healthier in my shot though, don’t have W&R to hand but think its still clinging to this mortal coil, I think the B(I).8 is just about still there…

Peter and all,

Sadsack is correct, have no scanner at the moment…. Hopefully I can get one soon, then can post pics of the Marham Dump in 1994, Predannack in the same year as well as the Manston images.

I have pictures from the CTE at RAF Manston in 1992 or 1993, although I cannot post them they are of the last Vulcan XL386, plus the following :

Canberra TT.18, Lightning F.3, three Phantoms, JP, Devon two VC 10 fuselages stuck together and a Victor.

There was also a big pile of burnt out scrap which consisted of a Viscount, Development batch Lightning and Argosy, as for the rest errr pass.
