Hello!
I wonder if any aviation experts out there could help me?
I am writing a film script about a commercial plane that crashed in 1947. It was a converted bomber – an Avro Lancastrian – flown by an ex-military crew for British South American Airways.
I need to depict the crew talking to the control tower on several occasions in the script and I’m stuck for the correct terminology and the sorts of information they would have transmitted across the airwaves in those days.
Does anyone know anyone who (ideally) flew for BSAA in that era, or anyone who is an expert in aviation communications of the time.
Are there any forums/websites on the topic that you know of?
Many thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
Best wishes,
Jan
