So while digging and sifting though my ‘stuff’ this afternoon, I fell upon the idea for a little ‘quiz’. I thought I’d do this on this forum because this gang is more fun. Sorry, no prizes except bragging rights. (unless anyone really wants one of my Aerobatic team profiles)
The subject: Identify the nation from the description of the focal point on that nation’s aircraft markings. The unique part is that I’m staying away from ‘standard’ roundels, geometric shapes and anything celestial. These are the ‘odd’ ones. In some instances there may be nations repeated and can represent current or former markings. Ready??
1: Leaf of a common hardwoood
2: Three elephants
3: Upthrust arm holding flaming torch
4: Crossed swords and dagger
5: Small flightless bird
6: Ancient bird, seated
7: A particular military decoration
8: Golden lion holding an elephant tusk
9: A fern leaf
10: Includes a cog, rifle, book and hoe (edited for accuracy)
11: Well-coifed lion’s head
12: Revered spiritual landmark
13: Bright bird with ‘romantic’ connotations
14: Black Trident
I guess that should do…

I suppose I should have mentioned that there are 2 possible answers for number 7 (hint: it includes a cross as well).
That would be Malta (GC) 😉
