Top Gears Richard Hammond critically ill….

Top Gear personality, Richard Hammond has been badly injured in a land speed record attempt at Elvington airfield today.

Reports were that the record attempt was acheived but as the drag chute was deployed the jet powered car called the Vampire swerved off the runway and rolled over trapping Mr Hammond in the vehicle.

Fire crews worked for ten minutes before he was freed from the wreckage and he was then airlifted to Leeds General hospital where his condition is said to be critical.

I’m sure you are all aware of the aviation involvment in Top Gear which is why I have posted this thread, but I am hoping you will follow me in wishing him to get well soon and to make a speedy recovery.
