Berlin C-54/DC-4

The C-54, that used to be at Tempelhof ( at the USAF site there ) , is that still around and can it be seen/visited? BW Roger

45-557 is still there

Hello Roger,

C-54G 45-557 is still there. It is located behing the fence along the street called “Columbia Damm”. But it doesn´t look like anybody takes care about it. Flown to Berlin in 1972 by the Base Commander of the 7350 ABG Col. Gail S. Halvorsen, who is also known as the “Berlin Candy Bomber”, 45-557
was on long term loan to the 7350 ABG by the USAF Museum. In 1992 the Skymaster changed hands and is now part of the Deutsche Technik Museum.
