And maybe the odd caption
When you’re the editor of a well known Aviation Magazine and you are invited to commentate on an airshow in Jersey, you get to do so from the comfort of an adapted articulated lorry trailer.
However when you’ve sold 85,000 copies of a book on making guitars, written a book on Hurricanes, are a regular contributor to another well known aviation magazine and have been asked to do a running commentary for the local TV station. Where do you get to braodcast from ??????
Yes, you’ve guessed it, the roof of a local public convenience.
When I stopped to thank Melv for the photo opportunity, he was looking a little flushed 🙂

Some people have it easy. During the ’70s, I periodically worked in a (licenced) ATC tower that was a) not sited on the aerodrome it served, and b) was actually built on the roof of the ladies showers/toilets of the local municipal sports field changing rooms. Don’t ask where the transmitter for the NDB was actually installed and the problems involved in servicing same. And yes. it was in U.K.

When they said “take your holidays at your on convenience”, they didn’t actually mean…

spies everywhere
Good grief the speed and detail of this coverage is shocking, what next minicams inside the bogs ?
Pleased to see that the wicked sense of humour is alive and well in the world, just getting concerned that I will have to carefully check for hidden cameras and long lenses when I go aviating on Friday, cos my six pack is not showing very well.
