Many of you will know Alan Brown, the Kent based air-war researcher. Sadly, he passed away last night after a short illness. Al was one of the “originators” of the aviation archaeology movement and his knowledge of wartime air losses in Europe was stupendous. He was a real character and many historians, writers, museums etc etc have much to thank him for as he had built up a real wealth of knowledge and records. He will be sadly missed and I felt there would be many on this forum who know him, or know of him. My sincere condolences to his wife and family. Andy Saunders

Yes, he helped me too. Met him once at AHB. A great guy.

That is very sad Andy. He helped me with many things over the years. My condolences to his family too.
