Was there a Meteor flying today? Would have had to be overflying (twice) the Stone (Staffs) area.
Had a query from someone via my website saying they’d seen a Canberra overflying in that area. I suppose it could be 163 out of Cov, so my “query” also relates to that airframe.
Doubt it would have been a 9.
Anyone know?

The next flight for our Meteor is this coming Saturday up to Leuchars for the airshow
Very much looking forward to seeing it display. Haven’t seen one aloft “in the flesh” since the RAF’s Vintage Pair at Leuchars many years ago. If I recall correctly, on that occasion one of them had a tyre burst on landing. Anyone else remember this or the year ??

Tom, are any of your aircraft planning to make the trip to Kemble on Sunday for their Open Day?

The next flight for our Meteor is this coming Saturday up to Leuchars for the airshow. The Vampire will also be at Leuchars from Friday whilst the Canberra will be at Lydd on both Saturday and Sunday.
WK163 will also be flying today at around lunch time. She’s heading up to Samlesbury then Warton.

Alan
Sounds about right, thanks for that gen.
Damien
Agreed. In fact that’s what I thought. My correspondent said “. . . a twin-jet aircraft with mid-wing engines.” Later he got onto my site to check his notion that it was a Canberra – he was on his allotment when he saw it. But, just in case, I had to ask here about a meatbox as I’m not familiar with 163’s program.
Aside . . .
Can’t think of any other twin, wing-mounted jet engined straight winged aircraft that would fit the bill except the cranberry and the meatbox. Are there any? Any that would be flying in the UK that is.
Propstrike
Thanks for that gen. But I don’t think the M40 runs anywhere near Stone in Staffordshire. 😉
Thanks for that people, makes me look good . . . again.

There WAS a Meteor flying on Wednesday at 12.00 hrs, when it flew paralell to the M40 for a mile or so as it did a circuit of Chalgrove (Martin Baker test site).
