Can anyone verify what I am sure took place at RAF Wattisham in 1968 as part of the fiftieth anniversary of the RAF. Lightnings gathered there from all over and the flypast took place over Buckhouse. I was amazed that their were fifty servicable at one time.

There was a major gathering of Lightnings At Wattisham to celebrate the amalgamation of Fighter Command and Bomber Command to form Strike Command. There could easily have been 50 there (I have a list at home somewhere), but without digging back into my records I cannot recall how many actually flew together – it was a lot though!
