hi iam trying to find out about the fire service which was based at the dump as i belive my grandad served there and i would be intrested if any one has a list of names and dates who served there 1945 to 1948? ithink he was there somewhere during this period

Hello Beany,
Earsham was a huge site for a bomb dump. My grandad was also a fireman at Bungay, I understand that he spent some time at the bomb dump and also the 446th BG at Flixton.
The one story that he once told was when an American removed the silk from a flare and it set the whole area of!
