Classic Air Rallye Aug 26 Canadian Aviation Museum
The Canadian Aviation Museum in Ottawa hosted it’s first Classic Air Rallye on Aug 26-27.
Vintage Wings had an excellent turnout with not less that six aircraft attending on the Saturday event. Both their Spitfire Mk XVI and Mustang P-51D participated in the flyby as well as their Beech Staggerwing.
A trio of immaculate Republic Seabees also took to the air in the afternoon…great to see..
Also in flight was C-GBQG Harvard Mk IV and Focke Wulf 149D C-FWOL
DH Beavers on float were in the air,,,,and I must say that Vintage Wings example has got to the cleanest example I have ever seen…
And many more on static display and on arrivals to view..
A very nice show which I hope they will be able to repeat next year

Yes CF-DQM a beautifully restored Fleet Canuck was in there..see picture… 🙂
The Seabees used the Rockcliffe runway for the afternoon and one of the DH Beavers used the Ottawa River(located just on the far side of the runway)…she sounded great on takeoff…you can heard her from miles away 🙂

Very interesting pics! Thanks for sharing those – I guess there must be a lake nearby with THREE Seabees and two Beavers on floats. Glad to see they are working on the Canadair North Star now it’s finally under cover.
