. Although worthy of its own thread, I thought it most appropriate to prove this threads subject line to be incorrect
This is one zombie thread I’m happy to see.

I saw this thread and wondered how many years there’d been an aviation museum hidden away in my wife’s favourite Goth heaven in North London!!!

.
Although worthy of its own thread, I thought it most appropriate to proove this threads subject line to be incorrect by advising to those interested that the Camden Aviation Museum’s website is back up and operational and forecasting a re-opening in Mid 2008.
Congratulations to all concerned, and great to see this most significant collection remaining intact, in Australia, and most importantly in memory of the Thomas family efforts to preserve it.

Ashley Briggs has posted the comments below on both the Warbirdz Forum and the WIX forum and I am sure he won’t mind me copying it to here to avoid ongoing speculation regarding the future of Camden,

Hi All,
Well David having spoken to Alan today and other than a bit of a head cold all is progressing well at Camden. I think you may have miss dialled as my numbers worked fine.
The rumors regarding Temora are just that Rumors. Plans are in place for long term management of the Thomas collection which will see it remain together for the forseeable future.

Let’s hope it get’s sorted.
Yes that would be a good move Dave mate.
And yep I’m with you RB mate, we must atleast try to keep some of our long aero history HERE! in Oz
More the better I reckon, BUT if we can swap back some of the already gone stuff, for junk that’s not really Oz related, it would be a plus for Oz.

It was open 2 sundays ago and a friend talked to Alan then. There was talk about a “Charatable Trust”. Genna {I am unsure of the spelling}Wilson was there and in a conversation re the Moth Minor she was enthused to restore it so it seem as of at least 2 weeks ago nothing changes.

I noticed a thread on Hyperscale forum that the museum is having problems
http://www.network54.com/Forum/149674/message/1156036997/
They’ve been going a long time and have some interesting stuff, but if Temora is to get the collection that’s got to be a good move. Maybe some of the aircraft will return to the air?

Well I called by when passing from Sydney down to Wangaratta this past March.
Everything was locked up and shuttered with no signage or opening time details.
I could almost feel those large birds of prey circling overhead. 🙂
