Hi,
Did anyone manage to see one of the 3 Canberras doing the farewell flypasts yesterday?
Here’s a pic I took of XH135 doing a flypast at Belfast City Airport, the airframes were built at the Shorts Aircraft Factory on the site.

It is sad to see them go….

So XH131 is still (almost) wearing the ATRF grey then! I shot it on print at Waddington yesterday….
I wonder if they went a bit of course on the northern run to include that collection of fields formerly known as RAF Binbrook?
Steve,
assuming your pics from Bassingbourn are on slide, would love to see em on here thou….
I wonder if Flypast are doing a photo feature on the Canberra over the years, to mark the old ladies retirement?

Bye bye Canberra. My fondest memory is of the regular stops at Bassingbourn in the days of 231 OCU. The North side dispersals were always crammed full of B.2s, and the apron outside the hangars had a lovely line-up of T.4s. That was also my first camp as a CCF cadet. Happy days – and the photos to prove it!
