Hi, I’ll be at Legends this weekend with our hot-off-the-press new book, the RAF WWII Flying Logbooks of Wing Commander RP Beamont, publication of which has been financed by myself and Jim Earnshaw. I shall be in the esteemed company of three 609 Squadron veterans who will be signing copies at various times over the weekend:
F/Lt Sir ‘Joe’ Atkinson, KCB, DFC,
F/Lt ‘Jimmy’ Stewart, DFC
F/O Sir ‘Ken’ Adam, KB, OBE
Sgt ‘Jim’ Earnshaw, AE
So feel free to come and see us in the TFC tent – they are kindly hosting us as written on their website.
The book has taken a lot of hours to get prepared and has come out beautifully, even if I do say so myself.
320 pages, hardback, full colour dustjacket and scanned pages of Bee’s logbooks (ALL his operational flights, plus some more entries of interest!) with supporting text from ORB’s, combat reports, personal letters and documents, photos from Bee’s personal files and various reminiscences make this a pretty damned unique and interesting read. It’s priced at £25 and we will be flogging them at Legends on both days from the TFC tent. Recording his time with 87, 79, 56 and 609 Squadrons as well as with 150 and 122 Wings, this book covers his flying during the Battle of France and Battle of Britain, the logbook continues through the first intruder patrols into occupied Europe; flying the Hawker Typhoon against tip-and-run Luftwaffe raids, night intruders over France and Belgium, D-Day and the invasion of Europe, Tempest versus V-1 Doodlebug interceptions and the march of the Tempest Wing through the Low Countries and into Germany where W/C Beamont force-landed and was imprisoned in Stalag III, Sagan and Stalag IIIa, Luckenwalde.
If you aren’t coming to Legends but would like a copy, please PM me and i’ll give you ordering details. Note that it is listed on Amazon but as they didn’t have the courtesy to contact us we shall NOT be selling through them until such time as we give up selling it ourselves!

See you there. Hope I haven’t broken the rules on posting, please modify if neccesary mods!
