I’m building a large scale model of this aircraft and would like to get a hold of any cockpit photos etc or details so I can make an authentic cockpit. I have a photo of the instrument panel but would like to get more of the inside ie seat layout etc – can anyone help out there? 🙂

I’m one of the Eggesford flyers where we have 4 airworthy Mark 9s, including XN441 seen above, WZ662 which is the prototype, XR240 and then the London to Australia 1969 Racing XR241.
I recently got a Japanese gentleman to build one for FS2004 and in the process took about 200 photos of our 4 flyers. So can easily pop them on a CD and send them off in the post, if interested.
Best wishes,
Martin

It would be worth getting in touch with the Army Air Corps Museum at Middle Wallop. ( http://www.flying-museum.org.uk/?page=8 ) I believe that the Pilot’s Notes for the AOP 9 were available, and may be around if you search.

If you drop in to Leicester this weekend you’ll find an Auster gathering that includes some AOP9s – I’m sure fellow members of the club will allow you to take some cockpit shots and measurements. Here’s a shot I took yesterday afternoon – had I known I would have taken some internal ones for you!
