Thanks to some insider info (Cheers Brian!), I made a quick dash to Hurn this afternoon to see G-CVIX arrive back from Southend.
He announced the arrival of the aeroplane by flying over the DHA hangars, much to everyone’s surprise 🙂
Hope you like, always happy to receive comments on and off board…

Bloody photographers 🙂

They had a very short piece on BBC South East tonight, They said that the reporter had been getting a sneek peek at the aircraft taking part including this…up on screen pops a Harvard!
They also said that they will have a preview of the Show on Fridays 6:30 news.

I have just seen her a couple of hours ago on my first visit to the Museum at Hurn – a beauty. The Sea Fury was looking good too.
The museum there is well worth a visit and there is a balcony you can go up to which overlooks the maintenance area where the Sea Vixen is kept. I also went into the Vulcan Cockpit of XH537 which was a first for me.

Great honour to see her when ever she displays,
It sure is.

Yes she is the olny airworthy Sae Vixen in the world.
Great honour to see her when ever she displays,

I’m pretty sure it is.

That’s a stunning aircraft. It looks so good in that colour scheme. How old is it? 40-odd I guess, but it still looks like “something from the future”, very bat-like.
Is this the only Sea Vixen still flying in the world?

Oh well, never mind, there is still plenty of good stuff there. Like me he also appreciates big, brute force and ignorance piston engines.

Display Dates
I checked the Red Bull website which has recently been updated and disappointingly there are only two more apperances this year:
4-8th August-Cowes Week
18th August-Bournemouth Seafront Airshow
What a pity that such an obvious crowd pleaser should be omitted from the major airshows.

Anyone know is G-CVIX is booked for Kemble this year? It would be criminal if it weren’t present!
also what other shows is she at this year.
By: stringbag - 13th June 2006 at 08:45

Glad to be there on the day!

I caught it on the way home Jamie, don’t worry.
Wipers were on full speed, and I still couldn’t see the Ford Focus in front 🙂

Great Pics mark, especially as you had a blue background – we had just grey or black here all day today!
