According to the Sally B website, she is scheduled to perform a Flypast on 1 June at Aldergrove. Does anyone have any info on this? Is it a public or private display? Does it mean RAF Aldergrove or somewhere near by (Langford Lodge)? I haven’t seen anything in the local press yet, but would like to try and get to see her if possible.
Thanks.
Ross.

I’ll definitely have to get there then, as the Zoo is only about 2 miles from me! Just wish someone could confirm when and where she will appear for certain.

I`m fairly certain it will be just the one at Belfast zoo around about lunchtime.

Thanks. Does that mean she’ll be performing two flypasts? One at Belfast Zoo and one at Aldergrove? I’ll have to keep a close eye on the news!

I understand she is coming over to perform a flypast at the unveiling of a memorial at Belfast Zoo to the B-17 that crashed on Cave Hill during the war. This is the event that lead to the recent film being made in Belfast.

I emailed B17 Preservation but haven’t received a reply yet. I’m wondering if Sally B’s visit to Northern Ireland is connected to a film being made by Richard Attenborough called Closing the Ring.
SYNOPSIS:
When a U.S. B-17 crashes near Belfast, a dying gunner asks a local to return his ring to his girlfriend in America.
Half a century later, a man finds the ring, learns its history and tracks down the girlfriend. MacLaine and Barton play the woman in 1993 and 1943, respectively.
He was in Belfast a few weeks ago shooting scenes, so possibly Sally B is coming over to do the aerial work around the real location?
