As I am a worker at the Aeropark, things are looking up at the Aeropark with the new hanger now complete, and lots of things have moved across from the old Aeropark.
Inside the hanger now are the restorations on the Vampire pod and Britten Sheriff, the other Vampire pod in temporary behind the Merchantman & Viscount nose sections, until we have the room to restore it. We do have a set of wings and tailbooms for 1 Vampire pod.
Other attractions from the old site are engines (Bristol Hercules, Rolls Royce Dart, Rolls Royce Spey, Rolls Royce Nene, Rolls Royce Continental, and others), also a model of the airport, information, aircraft parts, aircraft models, propellors, Lightning & Canberra wing tanks, bombs, a radar etc.
A Canberra nose section has also joined the collection. I will be going down to see it ASAP to know the serial number etc. We may have the chance for another aircraft soon (fingers crossed).
The Spitfire will be moved to a new spot at the Aeropark for better photography. The Varsity is being stripped and repainted.
