After almost 6 years of restoration the Y2-K Spitfire at 19 Wing, Comox Air Force Museum is hosting it’s annual open house event. 7-8 Spitfire veterans are scheduled to attend to sign prints, books etc. Wing/Co James “Stocky” Edwards who gained fame as a Kittyhawk pilot in North Africa will attend, as well Wing/Co Duke Warren of 165 and 66 Squadron RAF will attend. The only War time surviving S/L OF 443 Squadron RCAF Art Sager is also also attending. The Sunday May 21 event is a great aviation event for those that will be on Vancouver Island that day. The hangar opens at noon and we will close when everybody has had enough Spitfire chatter etc. For complete details see our website at http://www.y2kspitfire.com
