Channel Airways Dakota crash.

http://www.farvis.com/ventnor1.htm

This is a fascinating site describing the crash of G-AGZB on the Isle of Wight on 6/5/62. This accident is less well known than the Aquila crash but is just as worthy of mention as it has resulted in a memorial being erected on the site. Twelve crew and passengers lost their lives and the website is in itself a fitting and lasting tribute.

Hi New Forest, is there a passenger list for the accident on the site, I had a look last night but couldn’t see one.

No, in respect for the deceased and assurance of confidentiality given to those who provided information to the webmaster, all names are witheld. No doubt the information is in the newspapers of the time.

Yes, I consider it a complete and unbiased analytical report on the accident. It is interesting that the crash is not included in some accident databases which I am trying to correct. I was eighteen at the time and in the area and I can not remember any recollection of the event. The Aquila Airways crash seven years earlier was much more vivid in my memory.

The site has grown since I last looked at it, but is still a very balanced view of what happened, and is very fair to all involved.
