As seen on the Barnstormer site;
Can any CAF members confirm that this is the same aicraft that was recently rebuilt at Oklahoma.

As far as I know it went right into storage, It was replaced by the ME109. The pics show it being loaded into a CAF Herc for transit to Winnipeg.

…………………….
It is currently in the storage hangar having been replaced with an ME109 in the display hangar. I was always glad they chose to display it in its Spainish colours.
It resides right beside the Canadair Nortstar currently undergoing restoration by the Project Northstar group. Can hardly wait until we start breaking down the Merlin 622s.[/QUOTE]
The CAM Buchon was on display (loaned) at the Western Canada Aviation Museum in Winnipeg when I visited there a few years back. Did it go straight into store when returned to the WAM or go on show for a while?

Canadian Buchon
Check out this link to the Hispano HA-1112 MIL Buchon that used to be on display at the Canadian Aviation Museum in Ottawa.

Am I right in thinking that you posted a photo some time back of a Buchon model in Spanish colors (Condor Legion) as used in the movie Hindenburg?
You are quite correct. Obviously a film scheme, rather than an original Buchon scheme, it was the CAF example.

Indeed. Although I’m quite partial to the blue scheme, and there’s a rare three colour camo scheme too.
Mmmm.

I agree. FiO ought to have a Buchon flying, hopefully in the silver colors.

Not that unlikely, as the Fundacion Infante De Orleans have an aggressive acquisition policy and a desire to commemorate Spanish aviation. An overlooked important and growing historic aviation group.
For those that think *yawn* Spanish aircraft, they have a very impressive collection, including a great array of rare British types, bought fair and square and well loved in Spain, where they protect them from the rain, so it don’t fall upon the planes.
Grone. I’ll get my coat. 😉

Or it could go back to Spain and fly in an authentic Spanish scheme for a change!

N109ME was sponsored by Dan Lawson and Brent ‘Doc’ Hisey, hence its overhaul and restoration to flying status. Both Dan and Doc had hoped to fly the 109, given the necessary training. From what I’ve just heard there was a difference of opinon on this training, hence the Buchon being back at Midland and up for sale.
Lets hope someone from the UK, shows an interest in the acquiring this former Battle of Britain film aircraft.

Daz, the photo on the Barnstormers website certainly looks like N109ME but if I remember rightly the CAF also had a non flyer.

Having had a look at the CAF site, there’s no mention of another ‘109, either static or flying.
Plus, as has been stated, the asking price suggests a ready-to-go Merlin-Messerschmitt!

Well they are asking $1,200,000 for it! so I imagine it is a flyer.
