Whilst I think the point you raised has been responded to, the fact of the matter is that one doesn’t get anything for free these days. At least, not anything for free that somebody else has funded – ie, and as in this case, a forum sponsored by a commercial enterprise. Its a bit like asking an aerojumble organiser (or even e-bay!) to allow someone to trade for free, or give free admission!

In respect of plugging events like Shoreham, for example, it is a fact that we advertise with FlyPast (not cheap…and that isn’t a complaint!!) and at least two other Key publishing titles and in that respect my understanding is that the ‘plug’ is acceptable. Not only that, and whilst it is a commercial event, it is one that a good many aviation enthusiasts attend or want to know about. In fact, its no different really to the frequent plugs for other aviation events such as airshows and the like. Again, they are all commercial enterprises but are of huge interest and benefit to those who visit the forum.
