Got my ME109 One Summer -Two Messerchimitts this week and have enjoy watching it so much. A wonderful production packed with great photography and sounds of the aircraft in flight. Great in flight and ground shots of these two warbirds from the past, Steve I know you post here quite a bit on this fine FlyPast board and just wanted say thanks for a great production to you and Flying Machines…can’t wait to get my Spitfire version of this production and hope you have a P-51 Mustang production in the works down the road. Saw “Black 6” in action back in the early 90’s one fine October day at Duxford flying along side a Spitifire, truly an amazing historical site indeed and now having this super DVD brings all those wonderful sights and sounds back full bore ! Christmas came a little early this year , great job!
Looking forward to getting that Spitfire DVD soon !!!!!

I’ve just come online fresh from watching a lovely hour of Blenheim DVD action! 🙂
I can heartily recommend ‘Flight Of The Blenheim’ to one and all, especially as money from the DVD goes to the restoration/repair fund.
There’s some absolutely cracking footage there, with some good narration by the guys that matter, i.e John Smith and John Romain. There’s the usual slightly cheesy music of course, but this was only a very slight niggle on something that looks and sounds absolutely fabulous- the extras are very good too.
A lovely package, cheers Steve! 😀

[The only thing lacking was having BlueNose P-51’s of the 352nd FG chasing down “Black Six” like they did back in 1944-45 ! The photography and editing on the project are excellent. Hope you have a Mustang project in the works. BlueNoser352!!!!
Yup – aggree a P51 in this series would be very very cool and a best seller along with the rest of the classics

Dolby 5.1 normally starts with a good quality stereo recording, most of the material I’ve shot recently has stereo recording so 5.1 is a possibility. Problem is that mixing 5.1 is quite expensive and to be honest these films don’t sell well enough to warrant the expense.
Sadly though all my 109 recordings are in mono. However that doesn’t stop me being able to mix the sound all the way UP!
Having said all that, I am currently looking at releasing a new Spitfire DVD that would feature a 5.1 mix if i can make the technology work cheaply enough.

I’ve had a bee in my bonnet for some years over the paucity of good recordings of restored aircraft, having to rely on Hollywood for some of the best stuff, however could I ask Steve Connor if wide screen Dolby 5.1 recordings are prohibitively expensive for enthusiast type films. I sometimes fantasize about good quality cinema style DVD’s of Black 6 and the Mosquito whose losses could have been somewhat allieviated by recording these machines in the finest possible quality for future generations to enjoy. Perhaps now is the time to start a library of endangered species before it’s too late.

Done one of those already – “Flight of the Blenheim”
Steve, I think you need to change your homepage on your forum profile here as it’s your old address,(www.airshows.tv), which has now been taken over by Planes.tv or Aviation Action as they used to be!
Cheers

Looking forward to that Spitfire DVD Steve !
Steve:
Thanks and will be eager to get this one as well, very nice presentation of the ME-109 on the DVD. The only thing lacking was having BlueNose P-51’s of the 352nd FG chasing down “Black Six” like they did back in 1944-45 ! The photography and editing on the project are excellent. Hope you have a Mustang project in the works. Been working as a television news photojournalist for close to thirty years and always admire the work of photographers, editors who make such wonderful documentaries like you have
made here !

Must say they look very nice from the website, just wish I had the cash at the minute to buy a few! Are there any plans to make a Blenheim one, perhaps with old footage of the Mk IV and then some of the Mk I when she’s airworthy?
