Sabre Selection

Here are a few shots of Canadair built CL-13 Sabres all taken at Wethersfield on 19th May 1962. I do not know who the photographer was. The Frecce serials were 19488, 19493, 19560, 19588, 19599, 19618 and 19620 but what the tie ups to the codes are I do not know.

Hmm, looks like they started with NUMBER tail codes, then changed to LETTERS in 1963 and reverted to NUMBERS when they got G.91s in December 1964. Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks very much for posting these Glyn. However, are you sure about the date as I was under the impression that the “Frecce Tricolori” Sabres used LETTER tail codes up until May 1963, when they changed to NUMBER codes? Here is 19550 ‘G’ at the Paris Air show in June 1963 and a shot of the team at Rivolto in late 1963 with number tail codes which were carried on to the Fiat G.91PANs.
