The Evening Star newspaper of March 17 2006 reports the presentation of a dress made from a parachute to the Martlesham Heath Control Tower Museum by a Mrs Myrtle Ratliff.
A Mosquito from Castle Camps shot down the Ju 88 on 29.01.1944 at Needham Market where one crew member, Wolfgang Bruning, landed safely. The parachute and crew member being looked after by the Stevens family. One other crew member safely bailed out, however the pilot was killed and a fourth member never found.
Does anyone know anything about this engagement and what happened to the respective crews?
Greetings!
Rogier
