..ok, actually someones front yard here in town… It’s been there for years & I was visiting a friend close by & had my camera with me today so I thought I’d take some pics for here 🙂
I think it’s from a KC97.

No addresses? Like “Where you wish you were”? 😀 (I don’t, by the way.)

Last time I was over at Fox there was a KC97 (is that right? National Guard Stratocruiser tanker?) and something else that I forget. Could it have been an Argosy?
I was busy doing a biennial with a lovely lady called Linda Scott who was a firefighter spotter pilot when not teaching people at Barnes Aviation. That was nine years ago though.
Lots of good stuff up the road though . . .

Hi John,
I think ZRX61 is in the US of A, not Ukay.

It’s located in Lancaster Ca, between Edwards AFB & Plant 42. Apparently there used to be KC97’s operating out of Fox Field here, there may even still be one there at the Fire Bomber Base.
Not sure about the KC’s using Fox tho, it’s not a USAF field. The last 2 birds pulled out of there were a B25 & an A20 that belonged to Hughes, I think Kermit got the A20 (sometime in the last 10 years). Not sure where the B25 went.

Also in the same pic the road sign at the rear looks American.
Roger Smith (standing in for Hercules Poirot).
Would confirm that this is U.S. situated (D.C. Plod).

You’re right, the third picture tells a lot, it is right next to a highway, in the UK this would have been seen and reported before now. Also in the same pic the road sign at the rear looks American.

Perhaps he would enlighten us as to the geographical location of the relic?
Cheers

A “power egg” from a BOAC Stratocruiser?
I can’t imagine the USAF would leave something like that behind (the engine would have been sent to the US for repair/overhaul). And if it did go to a junkdealer, why would it have the cowling?
Perhaps a technical college escapee?
BTW: it could also be off a B-50/KB-50.

He won’t sell it, & it sure as hell beats… er, gnomes….
