Stange but true….. eBay item http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5676372347&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1
Rob, you spoke to Dick Nutt the other day, any clues as to this ?
I think seller ‘Hurricat’ is Steve Milnthorpe who had the Hurricane from Russia now with Hawker Restorations.

As far as I know, the Boston that was on ebay was a variant not used by the RAF (with a covered nose and machine guns right at the front of the nose, the A20G), i’ve only seen photos of the Boston with the glazed nose and machine guns in fairings on the side of the nose.
Would love to see a Boston in the RAF Museum, when I went the other day there was a fair bit of space where the Valiant was, only thing in the space was the Buccaneer and that only took up about 1/3 of the space from what I remember, more than enough space for a tricyle undercarriage medium bomber i’d say :p

There is mention of Boston parts on the Hunt Brothers, Shoreham, website, though it hasn’t been updated for about 9 months. Interesting “Kate” project up for grabs on there.

I don’t think I’d get a business plan for the Hurricanes on there passed the missus though, the bank manager would be fine about I’m sure.

I still have faith in RAFM pulling a boston ‘out of the bag’ from Oz….
But then i am an eternal optimist. 🙁

It’s a crying shame the whole Boston project has passed into new ownership, in that the new owner is only interested in a forward fuselage display/restoration.
As the other parts are also sold off piece by piece, i think it’ll need a miracle now to see a Boston in a UK museum. 😮

Wonder how much it goes for, if I had the cash i’d make him an offer and fix it up in my garage and give it to Midland Air Museum or something
So you didn’t have £640? 😀 Going, going, gone!

I heard yesterday this had been offered to a friend

When I spoke to him he just said about a year ago it was put into storage and wasn’t really viewable, and would eventually be worked on, so this is quite a surprise! If I get the chance i’ll ring him tomorrow and see if he knows anything about it, he said to me that there was no hardware at his place so my guess is that the Boston was moved somewhere in the area, certainly looks like it, could be to raise funds for restoring the other bits of Boston, i’ll let you all know what I find out.
