Back in 1986 the novelist Frederick Forsyth made a series for the BBC on famous battles. One episode featured a splendid reconstruction of the raid by the SAS on the Argentine airfield on Pebble Island in May 1982.
We saw what appeared to be real Pucaras being blown up. This footage has since been used in several Nugent/Martin documentaries e.g, “History’s Raiders” etc.
My question is this – were the Pucaras real or were they mock ups or was it a mix of both? In close up shots the Pucaras certainly looked real.
Best Wishes,
Colin

Seen those clips before – seem to me to be a bix of the two, the ones in the background and getting blown up seemed to be to be fake. Don’t mean to hijack the thread, but how come at least two of the surviving Pucara’s have part of the front nose missing? My guess is that it contains something removed for testing but don’t know why it wasn’t put back on (Believe the Cosford one had it’s front bit removed but now has it back on)
