AVM Geoffrey Eveleigh has passed away at the age of 93. Although he died before Christmas, his obituary has only just been published. He had a colourful pre-war,wartime and post-war career. He flew Hawker Nimrods from HMS Glorious in the 1930’s (the Fighter Collection’s S1581 was one of the aircraft he flew during this time) and went on to develop various blind bombing techniques during the war years, and more besides. The Daily Telegraph obituary below makes interesting reading.
