Having read the attached article on the first thread, I was absolutely “Gob smacked” to read that 9,500 Pilots lost their lives during this horrendous conflict,
I would have thought some sort of ceromony would have, (Has there) been held.
It must have been hell for the pilot and gunner/nav if their aircraft caught fire, and no parachutes to bail out with.

Why is it forgotten?. perchance it’s because there are none of these brave men left?.
