Just had a look on the website. Nothing seems to have changed, she is still a massive mechano set with the rumour of a flight in Autumn 2006 is this realistic. Can anyone give a sensible target, with the brain and not the heart

thought it was a UFO or something – apparently it was front page of the Manchester Evening News that night.
That still happens when the USAF fly a B2 over Los Angeles… they flew one over the Northrop plant in Hawthorne a few years back & the local PD had over 1000 calls about it

Kevin – I am a decided ‘Magic Roundabout’ fan ! But it would be an alternative way of funding the rebuild!

Kev – trust you to think of that ! Having said that it might just find the deficit especially if the webcam is linked to some of the more ‘entertaining’ websites on the
net!
David.
I’m shocked! You mean you’d pay to watch the ‘Tweenies’?

I found the newsletter to be a informative read, especially as they are without sponsor’s… with the exception of the HLF.
(Que, a rant from some…) but it shows they are not hiding away from the difficulties and complexities of this task….waste of money?… up to the individual to decide..it will go ahead just the same… 🙂

You can also view the progress on “live web cams” in the hangar….she is looking good…

It is looking good, but she seems to have shrunk quite a bit compared to the partially completed mecanno replica in the background… 🙂
Just kidding – i am looking forward to the flight as i have very fond memories of the Vulcan displays at Woodford Airshow (RIP), especially the ghostly banshee howl as she turned away from the flight-line.
Michael
PS apropos of the Vulcan – my mum and dad remember the first flight of the prototype, as they were out in the countryside when this thing flew over fairly low and they said all the cars stopped and people got out and thought it was a UFO or something – apparently it was front page of the Manchester Evening News that night.

Was’nt there a thread along these lines, a few week’s ago in historic?…..check back through, I’m sure it diverted into “was it worth it” etc, but “Fundraising is still ongoing.. whether or not she will fly in 2006 remains to be seen…. but I’m sure myself and a few other’s will be there as and when…..but it will happen at some juncture…
