RAF Finmere

Hello

Does anyone have any photo’s of RAF Finmere near buckingham from when it was operational, especially its runways and bunkers.

It is currently used as a paintball field and a sunday market.

Thanks

I have been to Finmere a few times over the years but didn’t know it had bunkers. Little sign of them these days. The runway(s) are still there and get used from time to time. They have had a flying club rally meeting over the years. In the 1980s they even had Sally B do a flypast – I have a pic of that somewhere. Most times it was much more modest – a few spam cans and Tiger Moths. Best of luck.

There are bunkers still in the edges of the woods but the field the VAC used is now part of a private dwelling that has been built there and the airstrip is also part of the same facility.
We had a bit more than just “spam” and Tiger Moths… 😉

Vintage Aircraft Club held regular fly-ins at Finmere during the 90’s. I have a few pics from those times but sadly nothing before.
