109 Trailer

After finishing the Shuttleworth DVD, I’m now working on two more releases, the first is the DVD of “A Spitfires Story” OFMC have kindly given permission for me to re-release it.

The second is “Messerschmitt 109” I’ve just thrown together a trailer for it and put it on the site.

I was already going to the ILA to see the 262 but maybe seeing 3 Messerschmitt legends in the air is a treat never to be for gotten.

Looking forward to those.

Is it not the supercharger or something?

Yes. The supercharger is located on the left side of the engine and makes a distinct whine.

Looking forward to those.

Also any ideas what causes the turbine whine sound as they pass the camera in the opening scene or as they take off?

Cracking trailer there Sconnor99. Cant wait for the DVD. Does the Spitfire story have any additional footage of the OFMC or of the Hannas at all?

Also any ideas what causes the turbine whine sound as they pass the camera in the opening scene or as they take off?

Word is that both of the Messerschmitt Foundation’s DB-605 powered Buchons might fly at ILA 2006 in Berlin this summer. Guess a trip to Germany should be considered! Wouldn’t it have been nice to see the pair at Duxford this summer, together with Paul Allen’s E model… 😎 Well, its okay to dream a little I expect!

Look forward to the 109 DVD sconnor. Nice aircraft to both see and hear!

whats happened to those two me 109’s?

‘Black 2’ is airworthy with the Messerschmitt Foundation in Germany.

‘Blue 8’ (or ‘Black 6’ as she’s better known) is in the RAF museum. See above posts.

Fluffy, you look quite authentic in those black overalls. Coincidence?

Well, he’s always been himself… 😀

For all the lamentation about Black 6 going into the RAFM, credit should be given to Russ Snadden and the Black 6 team for a scary amount of very tough work and political manoeuvring even to get the aircraft together and into the air.

The fact that Russ was (and is) SO picky about authenticity means that Black 6 is one of the most meaningfully restored aircraft of all – and he couldn’t have done it without the team.

Having seen both aircraft ‘for real’ and chatted on occasion to Russ and some of the folks, I have total admiration for their efforts. Without whom, etc…

It could have been unrestored in the RAAF Museum or Australian War Memorial.

It was bu@@ered up for the Battle of Britain Film

It was bu@@ered around with for years.

It should, by rights, bureaucracy and part availability never have flown at all.

If it hadn’t been restored to fly, and to an incredibly high standard of authenticity, it probably would not be on display today.

After an unfortunate accident, it’s to the teams credit that they didn’t walk away (as many of us would do by that stage of heartbreak) rebuilt it to put in the museum, static, but to airworthy standard.

Total respect.

Very nice!

@ 1:34 minute: drool!
@ 1:42 minute: total drool! That’s one of the best single shot air to air footages I’ve ever seen. I totally love that perspective!! I’d buy the DVD for that shot alone 🙂
Where was it from anyway? I’ve seen it before on telly I think…
