A workmate has loaned me an extraordinary tape of the Farnborough Airshow 1958 (or at least part of it is 1958). Everything wonderful that’s British is featured, all the V Bombers, the brand new EE Lightning, the Short S1, Hunters by the wheelbarrowful and Javelyns … and on and on (sigh). It’s a truly excellent vid.
Anyway, amongst all that – the Fairey Rotodyne. Wow. What an amazing and great looking machine.
