"Biggles Biplane" takes off

Well our website anyway!

If you’re interested in following progress on our BE-2 replica restoration, plus some background on ‘Biggles’ and the BE-2 story, take a look at http://www.biggles-biplane.com which goes on line today.

As always, it’s ‘work in progress’, so if you’ve got any suggestions or comments, please let Blue Max or I know. Look forward to hearing from you!

I only wish that the propeller would be that easy to reach for starting!

Thanks for all your interest in the new site, almost 1,000 ‘hits’ in the first 12 hours. Amazing!

Propstrike, actualy our fin outline is correct for a “c” model. Many “c”‘s were later fitted with the more rounded “E” fin as was the one at Lambeth. The whole tail section was drawn up and built a new, the Tailplane outline is actualy that of a “b” and very early “c”, the later “c” had a much more square appearance.

Steve, The profile of your dorsal fin looks a little non-standard, almost as though someone had saved time by just using the ‘Fokker Tail’ as seen on the Dutch Air Force Tigers.
