It was on the recent Dambusters remake thread.

I just hope the Dambusters remake doesn’t end up like ‘Pearl Harbor’…so much CGI that it was just dreadful 🙁

Inspirational

That CG is inspirational and new to me.
It makes me want to pick up Maya and start modelling. (come back in 15 years I might have something).

Ive seen shrek and LOTR bring nonsense to life, bringing back those fighters is fantastic.

The ambience in those shots is also amazing and the animation of flight (in particular the landing) is A1.

A VERY talanted individual. Imagine what could be done with the resources of Peter Jackson’s organisation or Industrial Light & Magic? Dambusters remake…..?

I’ll take WETA over ILM any day.

ILM did the CG for Pearl Harbor, don’t forget 😉

It is indeed a CGI by a very talented 3D modeller from Japan. There are more of such gems on his site. I have lost the link during my recet HD crash but will try to relocate it once more.

There were vids of KI-61s, Shidens and other nice wwii aeroplanes there.

Not actually a video of course. An excellent piece of computer generated imagery.

It has been linked here before, but it is still enjoyable.

Yes I know Moggy , but I thought it it might cause a few scratched heads , dam good CGI , just think of the possibility’s of seeing extinct types ‘flying’ now !

Sorry I obviously missed the earlier posting

Wonderful! Love the Mossie landing sequence. Forthcoming film? Showreel piece?
