All sorts of aviation themed tunes were played. The programme can Be heard again on BBC Radio 2 website for a week starting 10 Jan.
I’m not usually a Desmond Carrington listener but I’ve just head (25 mins in) to a wonderful period record dedicated to Amy Johnson by Jack Hilton & his orchestra. It even features a purring Gypsy Moth engine in the background, and a lovely verbal interlude describing her worldwide travels.

Pressure of work…..or something!!
Funny that, a bit of dislexyia with months! Thanks Dave – and for the correct spelling of ‘Hylton’ – my introduction to this bandleader. I’m listening to the Amy Johnson tune as I type – and there’s that engine chugging away again! Apparently, they were the megastars of their day.
Yes, it provided a good variety of tunes which provided some comfort as I was backing my stuff off the PC.

I found the show you refer to, and as it’s available to listen to now I assume you mean January – not November. Good show.

Do you really mean 10 Nov? Seems a long time to wait.
If you’re interested in Jack Hylton’s wonderful music, you can hear most of it on his brilliant official website here

Ah – out of the closet now SFF 😉
I listened to most of it too – an interesting collection of tunes and songs.
