not so much Broussard was built
so if you have chance, you can meet, or more interessting : fly in a broussard

17 actually fly in France, 4 in Great Britain

the 018 is now in USA
http://www.mh-1521.fr/index.php?part=19&cib=7&rub=84

but i have not recent photos
i think some broussard not fly anymore in USA, cause excessive costs
but this one was saved : good point

Any thread devoted to French aircraft is alright by me – even a zombie thread from three years ago! So here’s a zombie photo of 314-DA at Quiberon in 1981. Anyone know what became of that one?

i’m a fan of the Broussard since my first flight in a patrol
i was pilot student
i asked my instructor to sign the autorisation for the flight, he said yes šŸ™‚

so, in my DR-400, i follow a Broussard for 30 minutes unforgettable

it was in 2007

since, i flew in, and i had the chance to pilot the broussard a little šŸ™‚

and we have created a website dedicated to the Broussard :
http://www.mh-1521.fr

so if you agree, i’d like to add the photos posted in the thread
thanks to send me in better resolution

thanks
Nicolas

T6Flyer has a very nice photo of a repainted ex-Utterly Butterly Broussard, i’d never heard of one before I saw the pic!

T6F should be posting some pix for this thread, Melve too probably, think he has a broussard, a beaver or a target drone or something šŸ˜€

Umm, I think I have almost every Broussard photo going, as when researching the history of 208 (the ex Utterly Butterly Broussard) for its recent repaint, I think we have virtually looked at each and every example for either guidance or inspiration. Unfortunately, I am away from home at the moment and therefore unable to post any photos, but will try and send some on at the weekend.

Best wishes,

Martin

This is one of the few warbirds I have actually flown myself. It is an awesome machine, really BIIIG. You can carry a lot of stuff in the cabin – it truly is a French Beaver (the de Havilland kind!).

My friend and flight instructor Jerry Painter (http://mysite.verizon.net/res0cs5r/index.html) used to own one and I got to fly it a little in July 2004 from Arlington, WA to Olympia, WA for a show. We were flying over Puget Sound but our radio (a regular civilian one camouflaged under the “flip top” panel of the original radio) packed up and we had to return. Arlington is a no-tower field but we had to get through Seattle’s airspace to get to Olympia, so couldnt go on.

Here are a few pictures I took before pre-flight and from the cockpit.

“A lot of smoke and noises,…. a true radial..!”

You are absolutely right, I could even smell those heavenly fumes, down here….
Norwegians must be real magicians to start up a warm-blooded French lady under sub zero conditions…..
Thank you for your contribution..!

Here is a little video form today….
We gathered at Kjeller (Norway) today hoping to get the Broussard in the air.
As we found that the oil/engine heater had failed during the night, our hopes fell.
But we decided to try to start the old lady anyway, and guess what,..see fired!
A lot of smoke and noises,…. a true radial..!

Two from RSA meeting, Nevers, France July 2005, and a distant shot of a Broussard at Persan, same date. The Broussard at Persan looked somewhat unloved.
