RAF Merston?

Can anyone here please tell me where Merston was in relation to on a map? I know it was in Sussex, but where next to? I cannot pinpoint it.

No. 485 Sqn operated from there for a short time in 1943.

RAF Merston

I believe it was just to the south/southwest of Chichester city, the current Chichester Ring road (A27) passes very close to, or even clips the edge of the old airfield.

Will check more accurate details from home tonight.

It’s just south of Tangmere. If you type in ‘Merston’ on Multimap and zoom in, look just left of ‘Merston’ and just up from ‘Runcton’, you’ll see the perimeter track which is now a farm road. It shows up well on the aerial photo too.
