If anybody knows of the whereabouts of a copy of Subject book please email me.
Have already tried ABE books, and a google search for one.

Spitfire Book
Thanks Greg
Unfortunately even though Motorworks list the book as available it is not available once you place the order. I tried that one already. as to the other site when i delved into it further earlier on they also reported as none available. However thanks for looking i do appreciate it.

I do place my ‘wince’ bids with about 15/20 seconds to run.

I do the same. I always intend to wait until there’s 10 seconds to go but I keep running out of nerve.

The lesson from this, is always bid the maximum you think the item is worth to you... You may not have to pay this amount, but be prepared that you might have to pay this amount..
I call this amount the ‘wince’ figure. Not a penny more will I go.
I do not use ‘sniper’ software but I do place my ‘wince’ bids with about 15/20 seconds to run. At that time it will not be possible for my bid to be ‘probed’ and you have either got or you haven’t….but if you haven’t you will sleep better. 🙂

I agree..
I wanted something recently so bad, I put in a bid 3 times more what I ended up paying in the end.. But the other bidder, was not prepared to risk this amount of money, he kept on bidding higher than me, but as soon as he topped my bid, my automatic bid came in higher still… This was no sniper software it was ebay’s automatic software

 Just missed this book on ebay last week – it’s worth checking every day. I was outbid by some mongrel with that ‘sniper’ software that bids higher than you every time you place a bid 😡
Could it be that perhaps he wants it more than you?
Does the ‘Sniper’ software actually do that – place an automatic higher bid. That is extremely risky contractually and open to abuse/rigging.
I thought the software just placed the bidders high bid in the pool seconds before the end, effectively making it a ‘sealed bid’ auction.
You always ‘just miss’ on ebay, that is how it works. The winner pays ‘one increment’ more than the highest losing bid. To do that the winner might be covering it with a bid three times that of the highest loser, but you as the loser will never know that.
